What laptop should i get?
Answers:
Dude what ever you do don't get a Windows Pc. They suck for Photoshop and Illustrator. GET A MAC! They are extremely fast, lightweight, reliable, crashproof, and a good deal. A Macbook Pro would be perfect for you but a macbook should do ok for photoshop and illustrator, but im not sure you might need a macbook pro for some of the programs. But all should run on the macbook. Plus just to tell you i run my Macbook 24/7 and it gets pretty hot but it has never overheated. I even have it in my car running when its 140 degrees. So I wouldn't worry about that. Its time for you to make the switch and get a mac. You will never regret it! (If you would need you could get Windows for a mac all intel macs run vista and xp) But mac is way better!
The only notebook that I can think of that will be suitable for you is the MacBook Pro from Apple. It'll cost you about $2000 for the 15-inch one. I really recommend it for graphics and other graphics-heavy applications. It's very light and very thin. It weights 5-pounds and its only 1-inch thin. It doesnt really heat up that quickly but, it does get hot but, not enough to burn anything or anybody. And, it cools down quickly. I have one and I absolutely love it! Let me tell ya, it's very portable and designed for life-on-the-go. I really recommend it since you will be going into graphics design. And, the MacBook Pro was designed just for people like you. Since you are a student, you can get the education discount and, take $200 off and it will cost around $1800. I don't know about the coolpads because I have never needed one. But, most coolpads will fit the MacBook Pro. Just find a pad that will fit computers with 15-inch screen. Good Luck!
MACBOOK!
Well if your looking for powerful graphics and your a "Windows kinda guy" then get the Dell Precision.

I'm not sure about heating up, but I know that's a great one for graphics.
But if your not into that... I'd still vote Macintosh, you'd just have to consider spending a little more time trying to find programs, and a little more money sometimes, but I'm using a mac that I love! XD.
Good Luck!
The Dell 1420 with a NV8600GT and a choice of 3 screens would be a good choice. It has excellent heat dissipation qualities.

Heat
The Inspiron 1420 stays mostly cool, the left touchpad does get slightly warm when the notebook is being pushed hard, but the right palmrest stays cool. The bottom of the notebook also warms up a bit, but nothing drastic by any means. Under normal usage processor temperatures seemed to remain around 50C and never went past 65C during any benchmarking tests. Heat will not be an issue with this notebook for the average user.
You should get a Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092.
