Best laptop cheapest?
Answers:
Definitely Toshiba. They have a reputation for being trouble free and tend not to break down. £500 got me a good one two years' ago and it is still my main computer. You should be able to get a nice model for £500. I'd suggest going to Kelkoo and compare prices. I think that you're likely to get better service from an online retailer (such as ebuyer) than a High Street store.
A couple of things: mine's a Satellite Pro.
You should get at least 512 Mb of Memory.
It's worthwhile getting Windows XP Pro rather that the home edition.
Look on eBay and get a second hand one or if you're lucky, a new one. Word of advice - if the machine runs Windows Vista then get a laptop with as much RAM as possible.
Go to tesco.com there are loads on there with great features for example HP Pavillion dv6355 laptop for £599, i know its over your amount but it has everything you will ever need, webcam, bluetooth, great memory, usb, etc. Or look at Gateway on there site there also great for their price there a couple for under £500.
Look into Acer brand. THey are cheaper but if you want quality go with Toshiba
