Is it bad to leave my laptop on all day everyday?

OR IS IT BETTER TO TURN IT OFF WHEN I DONT USE IT AND START IT UP AGAIN WHEN I DO USE IT?? I SEE SOME PEOPLE NEVER TURN OFF THE COMPUTERS SO YEAH..

Answers:
I use hibernate, it shuts the LT off but you do not have to reboot on the start. Yes heat is the big killer of LTs. Plus there is the possibility of a power surge.
OFF , or your fan will be ruined and your laptop will get over heated.
for many years, we only used laptops at home. we never turned them off - unless there happened to be a lag in performance not related to a bug or virus. and now we have pc's and never turn them off.
Well, it really depends on the kind of user you are and the quality of your laptop. If you won't be using it for an extended period, I suggest you turn it off. On the other hand, If you will be away momentarily, You can put it in standby mode
It's best to turn off your computer when you go to bed at night, and just hibernate it when you'll get back to it later throughout the day. Hibernating your computer saves energy.
Well after I have finished using my laptop I turn it off, and then at the mains aswell, if it is plugged in.
Simply because
1. Saves electricity
2. I know it won't cause a fire if overheated.
3. The fan can get overheated and blow if left on for long periods.

And come on, What does it take to turn it off when you've finished using it, and then click a button when you want to turn it on again ?
You will see a price drop in your electricity bill aswell, I for sure did !
