Apple Macbook Pro - where to buy ??

i've been looking at the macbook pro on the apple shop website and very tempted. the only thing is i ntoticed that its US. where is the best place to buy one as i noticed that the spec on the site is a lot better than the standard shops i.e. pc world. are prices on these things pretty standard??

Answers:
Apple has "fixed" pricing - they cost the same no matter where you buy them. You can buy them in Apple Stores, catalogs (Mac Connection, Mac Warehouse, Mac Zones) or more local resellers. If Apple says the retail price is 1199, then the only price different you'll see in a catalog is 1195, though sometimes for a laptop they give you a bag or a surge protector for free.

If you are a student, or a teacher, you can get a discount (education discount) - http://store.apple.com/catalog/uk/images...

If not, http://www.apple.com/ukstore/ is where you want to go.

Enjoy your new Macbook Pro!
I believe internet prices are more expensive than if you bought from a store. Either that or its the exact same. remember if you buy off the internet shipping costs come in play too.
Be careful about switching to Macs. I've seen many PC users switch, and they're not always as happy as you hear they are.

Macs - as a hardware, are real nice. Great specs, great display, and nice design. Perfect almost in terms of hardware. Although there have been reports about exploding batteries.

OS X - as a software, however, is not as great as it looks. Yes, it's clean, organized, and in a way, easy-to-use, but there are many things that people would dislike. Compatibility problems (far worse than Vista), slowness/sluggish responsiveness, and the fact that you'd be pretty bored with it, if you're not a person who's interested in working with media, or just browsing the internet.

Also, Macs can get viruses, not matter what users say, and Apple doesn't fix them as fast as Microsoft does.

And running Windows on a Mac can be sluggish/buggy with virtualization, emulating, and whatnot.

If you're just any normal computer user, I would suggest you try getting a high-end/mid-range PC, Windows Vista, and an anti-virus program.

I use a Sony Vaio with Windows Vista, and Live OneCare, and it works great. No problems. Fast, and it just works. It's also real sexy in comparison to a Mac.

So please, really consider if a Mac is something you want to purchase before switching.
The prices on the Apple website, will be the same as the prices in the stores for the same machine.

You will love your Mac.

If have enough money for a mac pro why not buy a pc notebook, pc world is awful, it has a pathetic selection at inflated prices try laptops direct, newegg or bestbuy. For 3/4 of the price of a mac pro you could have a better pc, if you shop around, unlike with macs pcs are cheaper at different stores.
