I'm trying to play a DVD movie (Harry Potter lol) on my laptop, but it's not working. On VLC player I get sound but a black screen, on Windows media player I get a green screen and super fast-forward sound. If I click on the DVD it says it's incompatable with my windows (I have Vista). This is the first time I've tried a proper tv-movie-DVD on here, but it plays computer(downloaded) -movie-DVDs. Is there anything I can do to make it work?
Answers:
sounds like a codec issue (codecs are used in the compression and decoding of digital media).
Try downloading and installing a codec pack, the one I use is from www.cole2k.net - try the 'advanced' pack (link on the top left of the screen.
Hope this helps
