Every time I turn off my computer the date goes back to Feb 2006.?

All I need to do is reset it when I turn it on, but why does it do this. It's a new computer with Windows Vista.

Answers:
you just need to enter the bios and set the time and date there, to get into bios restart the pc and immediately start tapping DEL until the bios screen appears, only change the time and date, dont mess with any other settings as this could cause your pc to crash
it may be a new computer but it sounds like the motherboard battery is dead or dying.
I agree: The battery on the motherboard needs to be replaced before it will retain the date and time, and hell even your BIOS settings: you've been getting reset to factory default everytime you reset the machine.

Locate the battery (it should be accessible) and have it replaced. Its a watch battery.
