What labtop do you suggests?

less than 1000 $

I'd always consider Asus first. I've had my current laptop for 2 years and it's in perfect condition despite the level of abuse it gets!

Sure, you can get cheaper laptops but the quality of them is often lacking. Do you have Acer over there? They are very cheap but fall to bits quickly!

Just make sure you get a decent amount of memory (1gb+) and go with Windows XP rather than Vista. XP is solid whereas Vista still has lots of bugs to be sorted out!

As the other poster said, it really does depend on what you are going to use it for. I suppose for under $1000 you're not going to be wanting to play the latest games...
I got a question for you first. What are you going to use it for? Gaming, business, college, or just for normal use.
I have a Compaq Presario C303NR (got it for Christmas), and have enjoyed using it so much I wore out a key on the keyboard. Obviously, I don't know the price with how I got it, but I think it's about $1000.
i recommend a lenovo thinkpad
I would recommend dell under $1,000. I personally prefer the style of compaq but dell systems are better and usually faster for the money. If you have a little more cash to spend alienware is the best for performance and appearance.
one of the dell inspiron series
Dell, cheap but size bigger.
