Ram is very high?

Even when i start up my computer, the RAM is very high (up to 80%). How can i know what takes this amount of RAM and stop it?

For now i cannot upgrade.

Thanks

There are many things that could increase your RAM. Its probably some certain startup processes that you can not see, which run in a background.

In order to stop the startup services and/or processes that you do not need you have to install a program that manages these startup processes easily.

I'd suggest www.absolutestartup.com , it works on VISTA, it has a very user-friendly interface and it's easy to use. You'll be able to stop all the startup services/processes that you don't need and your RAM will definitely go down.
do u have a lot of programs on auto startup? (msn, limewire, etc) the more u do the more RAM it takes up. basically the computer needs to warm up itself and get jogging
Sounds like you are talking about CPU Usage
1] Press CTRL-SHIFT-ESC at the same tine
2] Click on the Performance Tab
Then Tell use whay you really mean!
This maybe because of the startup item, try disabling some of them on "msconfig". Click start button > Run > type "msconfig". Go to startup Tab.
press Ctrl+Alt+Del to show up the task manager then select processes tab. I may suggest to use a software which is free called FreeRAMXP to better control RAM utilisation.
you could have a lot of processes starting up when you start windows, i'm not sure how you could fix this (i have Vista, so i would be lost now, but i think it would be in Contol Panel and Precosses/applications or something.)
also, if you have very little ram, you will be using most of it to start up windows full stop. (i had 256MB on my old computer and that was taken up by windows starting a fair bit!)
