No, you are never obligated to purchase a software package after the trial period has expired. During the trial period, if you find something you like more, I'd suggest you just download it and store it for installation after the trial has run, so there won't be any lapse in your coverage or protection.
No you don't have to buy the full version after the trial period, you can uninstall it and get whatever anti-virus software you want
I suggest you either uninstall or subscribe to it (your preference) before the 90 days are up. Virus Blockers are notorious for releasing viruses after the subscription runs out. They will release a virus to slow your computer down and when you scan to try and stop it, it purposefully ignores it as a way to get you to re-subscribe. I would uninstall it now and install AVG AntiVirus. It's free and it works great!
To be really honest with you, I don't like Norton. I'd take it off. if you have time warner, they provide a decent package - or you can download AVG for free and it does a great job. I think Norton is very invasive. Whenever someone's computer slows down, it's the first thing I look for and it's usually the culprit.
IF you decide to take off Norton, make sure you download your AVG or whatever - and don't open it - instead SAVE IT to your documents - so you have the program - THEN uninstall Norton, REBOOT and doubleclick your new software.
Sometimes Norton resides on your computer with hidden files so you may or may not have to tweak it. depending on if it gives you trouble. Norton is a royal PITA..
