Answers:
Your laptop should have one as most do. Here is a link to a picture of one on a laptop:

Basically it's the 2 inch wide port on the side of your computer it has a button that sits flush with the computer usually on the right side of the port that you push in it will pop out and you push it in again to remove the card/space filler from the slot to use it. Good Luck HTH.

Response to Additional Details:

Yes this is the slot 2 rows of 34 pins each(68 total) that is the slot you have it. Here is a picture representation of the pins just so you know.

It's about 2 1/2" long by about 5mm or so. Should usually have a little release that pops in and out of it. It's like 1/2 the size of a floppy disk drive.
Pretty much every laptop has one of these. It is a thin slot normally on one of the sides of your computer. Some people refer to it as a credit card slot, because it's very similar in size to a stack of 3 or 4 credit cards. Refer to your computer's specifications and see if your computer does indeed have one. Again, most laptops have one or two of these ports available.
sometimes there are two, this photo only shows one (it is the long slot):

WARNING: Some new computers have a EXPRESS CARD SLOT, it looks exactly like a PCMCIA slot. The best thing to do is to download the manual from the Acer support website.
A PCMCIA slot is about a 1/4 of an inch tall and about 1 1/2 inches long. Sorry, I don't have a picture of one.
if it has one it will probably be marked but heres a pic

The PCMCIA slot would be on either side of the laptop. It's roughly the width of a credit card and about 1/4 high. Some newer laptops don't have them since USB has taken over for expansion options.

The link below has a pic of one.
