i have the above laptop i bought it new and it said that i had to make the recovery diiscs from scratch from the laptop i stupidly didnt do it. my cd/dvd drive is playing up it wont play any type of cd or dvd. Is there a way i can reboot the whole laptop with out the discs? if not is there any way to get my drive working again? Help!!

http://club.vaio.sony.co.uk/clubvaio/gb/... remember to write the serial no. down from underneath the laptop save turning it upside down when u need to type in to register mines 15 digits long on a white sticker underneath. Incidently i did a recovery without the disks i'd made.
reinstall the cd driver by downloading it from sony or driver.com
goto sony website via your vaio link where you can download the recovery help via, vaio : support :
Preinstalled Drivers and Utilities,
put in your model and follow the instruction.
