I don't turn off my laptop when I'm done with it. I hibernate it. Sometimes when I turn the power back on, all I get is a gray screen and it never goes to my desktop. Why is that?

I have that same issue with my laptop and I have found that if I simply hold down the tab or shut the screen and wait for a about 10 20 seconds then open it back up, everything works fine. No clue what causes it, just know that closing it and reopening it clears the problem.
