To mac or not to mac?

The mac is better. Suer it will cost u more $$$ now, but it will be running for a long time. I have a mac that I got in 1999, and it still works like the day I got it. macs don't get viruses. always handy. they are great for movies, music pics, etc. Having a job and a car, you probably won't be concerned with gaming, but If you are, get windows XP basic. It is cheap and then u can run any of your games on it.
About the "no right click"... LIE! You can right click on a mac mouse. It is like complaining about how bad windows 3.1 is today.
Another handy thing that apple doesn't advertise. MAc OS X right now is checking my spelling as I type in on the input box here on RunQA.com just as it would on Word. When I misspell a word, a tiny red line appears under the misspelled word.
iMovie > Movie maker
If you are into making movies, mac is the answer.
Vista copied lost off OSX features... I am not going to rant and rave about this one, but I have to say that everything from to widgets to the chess game to the searching is copied, but with enough tiny changes not to get sued. They even changed their classic + and - boxes to open folders got changed to triangles, just as mac had in every operating system.
overall, get a mac. You won't regret it.
Get the MAC. It will work. Too much downtime on PC's fixing crashes, solving conflicts in software. Mac's work forever. I still have my first Mac that I bought in 1984 and it still works! Mac OSX is the most stable OS out there and the most secure. Mac is rated #1 in customer service too.
Macs are nice but not all software run on them. Buy a Toshiba.

Forget toshiba/sony/dell/HP...they're all useless. If you want a secure notebook that'll last, invest in a Macbook or Macbook pro.
if you have the money, then go with a Mac, but you might want to consider a hp. my dad had a Toshiba, and it did not work well. Now he has an hp and it is working beautifully!
Check the Consumers Reports review of laptops. They top rate Macs for battery life and tech support.
A good anti virus program will cost you money, you'll have to update the virus info daily and do scans daily. Less stress with a Mac.
Macs don't get viruses very often because most people don't use them so virus writers don't waste their time with them. I own PCs but use Macs at work. Personally, I think Apple invests more time and money on everything but their operating system (ipods..) Spinning wheel of death anyone?
My main reason for perferring PCs is that because they're used by more people, more software is available for them and more people write free programs and utilities for them. Macs are proprietary and more expensive when buying anything for them. They have no benefits over the PC.
