Questions about laptops...which is the best brand to buy that has the fewest problems?
What do you connect it to to make it work? I mean, is it wireless? How do you connect to an ISP, telephone or cellphone?

I love apple. I bought a new macbook this year. Its not only faster than my pc, the guys at apple told me I was stupid when I wanted to buy anti-virus because the one man said he had a mac 16 years with NO BUGS!! Expect about 1500 for a midrange computer but its worth it because set up is sooo easy. It took me about 3 min to set up my mac. It even set up the wireless connection by itself. It has bluetooth for cellphones and many ports for other connections. Take it at what it's worth though. Good luck
I bought an HP about 6 months ago and I love it! Haven't had any problems with it. I paid $1700.00. I have wireless through alltel. It uses a little card that slides in the side.
i'm only gonna give u a general answer, because i'm not sure about specific answers u asked, but i believe that as long as you are not stupid about your laptop, keep it up to date, keep a good antivirus program, and dont go downloading randomly or visit inappropriate sites that are prone to be the homes of viruses. you should have no problem with your laptop, pretty much no matter what brand you get. unless you want a laptop for specific reasons more complicated than the average user
... i have a Dell Inspiron E1505... i got it on sale for $699 -- it had a dual hard drive, dvd player/burner, 80 gig hd, works great, and i make sure it's kept up to date... it comes with a built in wireless card... and there are ports to connect it to telephone or to a modem via ethernet cord... very efficient
Sophie, go to www.apple.com, and their store. You'll find MacBooks there. Go to www.consumerreports.com, you'll find they top rate the Mac computers for tech support and battery life (and no viruses!) A MacBook is wi-fi ready out of the box. It has all the software you need.

I originally bought a gate way note book wireless on sale best buy 800.00 Did not like picture quality but it works almost every where looked ar brands in electronic stores ran into a Friend I know is a geek He said go Dell I got the xps M1330 with a few up grades about 1500.00. not a geek but it blows me away..

I would recomend a Dell they do not have as many problems as HP or Gateways I would also make sure its a intel based system the prices very check out www.dell.com for pricing a good price for a laptop is around 600.00 or so all laptops now come with built in wireless connections. If you are on the go and need to be connted all the time I would recomend the cingular wirless card they work at broad band speeds depending whare you are at as far as the built in wirless card in the laptop you would need to have a wirless router. If you need a wirless router I would recomend a Netgear wiress G router Stay away from wirles N its not a industry standerd as of yet. I hope this answers your questions.
