IBM Thinkpad t30 won't power-up! HELP ME!?
Thinkpad wont power up at all. Power-supply works perfectly, Battery is fine, is there a fault reset?
Answers:
if it won't power up then battery is dead, power supply is no good or motherboard is bad. how do you know the battery and power supply is good if the PC won't turn on?
If you are sure that the AC Adapter and battery works, then maybe the motherboard ...
I have the same problem.
Only happened suddenly. It shutdown the computer for a trip and when I tried to restart the following happens.
I depress the power button and the following happens:
The '1', 'A' icons come on, as does the moon (only for a moment), then the battery icon (green)..the '1' and the 'A' icons are no longer lit up...only the green battery icon and the icon beside it (circle with a lightning bolt thru it)...
That's all that happens..
No image on the screen at all
No fan noises
I've disconnected / reconnected everything
I've tried booting without and with the battery
basially no bios loads up
read somewhere that could be because it believes it is hibernating, or bad motherboard or bad CMOS battery. Not sure how to figure out what it is.
1) For hibernation, don't think thats the case since i shutdown.
2) suprised if motherboard went suddenly bad in shutdown mode - would have expected it to happen in live mode
3) Have ordered a new CMOs battery - lets see if that is the case.
please let me know if that is indeed the case.
Since I am no longer under warranty if the motherboard is bad might have to trash it as relacing motherboard card may exceed cost of new system.
please let me know if you find any solution
