the sticker says its a hp dv5000 , but that has a amd ptocesser, mine has a centrino duo, and my dvd drive says rw dvd.r dl and dvd multi recorder, oh and the box says it is a hp dv5 something, cant remember why would the dticker on theserial number of my computer say hp dv5000 when it is supposed to be hp dv5190 did i get ripped off,

Do not get confused. Your laptop belongs to HP series DV5000 but you may have a model DV5190. Still confused .? Look at the bootm of the laptop near windows Certificate of Authority you will find the exect model no of your laptop. And as per documentation says you do have DVD Writer.
