Can I set up a wireless connection with a netgear wgr614v4 and a dg834v2? The DG834V2 router is not wireless.?
Answers:
the WGR614V4 is a wireless router. If you want to add it on to an existing router, you need to set it up as an access point using a static route. Static Routes provide additional routing information to your router. Under normal circumstances, the router has adequate routing information after it has been configured for Internet access, and you do not need to configure additional static routes. You must configure static routes only for unusual cases such as multiple routers or multiple IP subnets located on your network.
From the Main Menu of the browser interface, under Advanced, click on Static Routes to view the
Static Route menu. Here is a help guide to get you on your way. http://interface.netgear-forum.com/wgr61...
Good Luck
If you come off the DG834 with a connection into the WGR614 internet port it should work. You may need to go into the wireless unit and change the IP address for wireless if the base unit has the same group (192.168.1.100-150) Try setting to 192.168.31.100-150 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and gateway to 192.168.31.1. Make sure it is set to bridge mode. The best solution is to get a Wireless Access Point to plug into the router.
I faced similar problem with my wireless netgear wgr614v5 not working with new aztech router. Before this there is no problem with the old router as I could set it up after some time. Try configure the netgear router. But I found it was easier to buy a new integrated wireless adsl router and it's now working well.
