HP zd7168cl notebook?

i have an HPz7168cl notebook.
i have a problem with it, being that the laptop will accept ac power and will work fine, but it will not charge my laptop. this makes it so i can only use my laptop when it is plugged in.

basic summary.
laptop works when plugged in, but does not charge.

is there any help i can get for this type of problem?
my guess is its a broken battery, but i want to get some insight before i go out and by some.

anyy help is appreciated. =D thanks

get your best deal on a new batt!

I have seen this very issue solved by replacing the battery and suggest you do just that. It will cost you about $100 new.
Anything less will be a good deal.
if you can, try getting a battery that you know works. swap that out with your current battery. if it does charge then you know its your battery that has the problems. if you're still under warranty, consider sending it back to hp for a replacement or repair. don't go to bestbuy or other retailers to use their geek squad or firedog service.
