Is possible to use a car battery for a laptop?

How would you wire it. Are the voltages even the same. I figure you could wire up a car charger to a 12v car battery. I suppose that it would last a pretty long time before it needed to be recharged. But is there a way to wire it up like a laptop battery? Directly to the notebook.

Note: Buy the good quality power inverter, chose Good Brand that you can trust, be-careful because there a lot bad power inverter quality in the market.
