Why can't my new laptop read discs properly?
Answers:
Better you go to the service centers.... or go to the retailer... coz it seems to be a technical problem.... if ur laptop is in warranty then it will be replaced either the DVD RW or your laptop. my DVD drive also was not detecting some of the CDs. but i replaced it and now its fine. it was SONY DVD +/- RW.. 8x.... you better go to the retailer or service center.
contact the place where you bought the laptop or the manufactorer and tell them to replace it or fix it.
Laptop CD players have this problem, how thin is your laptop? Are you applying alot of pressure with your right hand on the keyboard? This can sometimes mess with the CD drive
hmmmmm sounds fishy.... how old is the laptop? i say that it is probably a faulty driver. hmmm it also could be a software problem--do u have a program that can read CDs and DVDs properly? it think its your software, but if you have iTunes or Windows Media Player or Nero or something than it is unlikely. something mechanical could be wrong in your drive, like the laser or the little spiney thingy. try some other software first then try to replace the drive. sorry about your problem
Do you experience the problem when running on batteries? From your specs, I am guessing you have a Sony and they are having a few battery problems/recall. Your battery may not be sending enough juice when disconnected from the outlet. Try it with and without the A/C adapter and see if their is a significant difference.
