i m sorry but i cant understand ur question very clearly but it seems like u want to transfer some informaion from ur desktop to laptop ..if u want it continiously then networking is only option ..and if u want to do it for just one time .i guess flash drive is best option ..u can get one very cheap in the market right now ..it comes in different capacities ..that upto you how big u want ...

you need to create a home network.
to do this you should go to the control panel and look for the networking or something and create a new one
then on the laptop, join that network
make sure your computers allow sharing files between them.
i cnat tell you how to do this because you need to updatye your question and tell us the OS!
