Mac antivirus program help? ......intego review/opinion?

my school requires that i have an actual antivirus program in order to use internet. i have macbook pro and plan on using parallels soon. i found that intego offers a dual protection package but i cant seem to find any reviews on it. should i get the antivirus dp or internet securit dp which has antivirus, firewall, antispam, antiphising, antispyware. im leaning on the internet security one but would it slow down my mac performance

I have both Intego NetBarrier and VirusBarrier installed in my MacBook Pro. I've got Norton AV in my Toshiba LapTop. For my money and ease of use, I find the Intego easiest to use and so much less intrusive than Norton. I'm very satisfied with Intego. You don't even know it's there until a problem has been detected. Intego also does complete scans in 1/4 to 1/8th the time of Norton. I've been using Intego for a little over a year. Downloading periodic updates is also a breeze.
They will use up CPU and RAM resources when running and you will need AV, anti-spyware etc. for the Windows partition more so than than you will need for Mac OS X, which BTW you would just need to enable the built in firewall for Internet. I would suggest that you download and install ClamXav for Mac OS X so your school doesn't ban your MBP and install free AV, anti-spy etc. on the Windows partition when you get parallels to save $$.
