My laptop is only about 4 to 5 months old and it is very slow up louding when i first turn it on ??

Vista is part of it, but it also has a lot to do with how much hard drive space you take up, as time goes by and you fill up your hard drive it slows down the load up time, its just a common thing, you can also try stopping some of the start up programs. Go to run and type in msconfig
Go to: start>run and type "msconfig" (without quotes). The click on the selective startup tab. Remove anything that is not necessary. If you have a question, write down the "lable" in the left column and do a search on Google. There are sites that will tell you if something is necessary for startup. My bet is you have a lot of crap that is not required hogging your startup process.
