Power options for Macbook?
Answers:
To conserve battery, turn it off. Otherwise put it to sleep. Shutting it down a lot won't hurt it unless it is being shutdown by holding down the power button for a few seconds. Always turn it off via the Apple menu, pressing ctrl + eject key or clicking on the power key (not holding it down) and choosing Shut Down.
I don't know where you heard that shutting down allot can damage it..but shutting it down would be better becuase the batteries only can be charged so many times before they need to be replaced and when the computer is sleeping, it is still using the battery. Maybe you misunderstood shutting down improperly can damage it but not just normal shutting down.
I've had my MacBook Pro since December of last year. I shut it down after almost every use, sometimes multiple times in one day, and have experienced no performance issues.
if you're thinking of buying an macbook you should out this site first. they give you an macbook for FREE! all you need to do is complete a few quick tasks for them.
I shut down my Macbook after each use, especially at
night and when I'm not using it for a long time. Sleep
is best for short term use. Shutting it down doesn't
damage it. Be sure you shut it down from the Apple
Menu. It could damage it if you use the button you
turn it on with. Macs are practically indestructable,
anyway.
