2000 years from now...?

If someone were to find a store of CD roms, and a suitable reading device for them, would the information on the CDs still be intact and readable?

Answers:
Bury a few in the ground and send notes to people all over the worlds saying dont open the box found (insert addy and location here) until 2000 years. hopefully one of the notes out there will last that long..

to answer your question, no
??
prepressed cdroms? most likely if they were stored correctly, and the plastic hadn't gotten too brittle.

burned cd's? not a chance.
As long as they were kept out of the light

aluminum CD tech uses anodization of the aluminum (shiny)

CD's left in strong light or sunlight would eventually become
unreadable
recordable CD... no. I have had properly stored writeable cds that failed in as little as 6 months.
Mass produced cd will last longer, but I doubt they would last 2000 years.
let me know when you get there
