How can I increase my AirPort strength?

I have a PC and a Powerbook, but use my Mac on an everyday basis. When I use the PC, I can walk anywhere around the house and still use the wireless internet. The Mac does not get the same signal. I have to sit at a certain place, all the time (my stairways, no less) to get signal.

It's becoming a problem -- when I have to do homework. Please, any help is great!

Answers:
On your laptop- go to the airport menu in the menu bar, and select use Interference Robustness.

On the Airport Base Station, check to see that the transmitter is on full power (use the AirPort Admin Utility). If you don't have the Airport Base Station, check the instructions to see if you can increase the range some other way.
