The best way to clean your laptop screen without damaging it or making it worse is to use 3M Notebook Screen Cleaning Wipes, which you can get from Comp USA. I got those wipes, and it cleans my screen very nicely. You shouldn't use anything else to clean your laptop screen. I would highly recommend these wipes.
They sell special wipes for this... at any office depot or office max.
A damp lint-free cloth or damp paper towel using water. Avoid spraying water onto the screen as it can seep in around the edges and cause damage.
Avoid chemicals as they can dry out and crack the protective cover of the LCD monitor (chemicals like alcohol and glass cleaner).
You can use a mild alcohol-free detergent but mix it in the water before hand and never apply to the screen.
