Why is my dell inspiron 6000 falling apart?

The up arrow broke off but luckily i got it back on. but i didnt do anything to break it. i just pushed it not too hard and it came off. also when i open and close my screen it tends to be alittle loose and not stay up at a certain angle. also my screen frame is starting to split off it the bottom right hand corner. i have never dropped my laptop or abused it in any way. Is anybody else getting the idea that dell laptops are crappy products or is it just mine?

Well, first off, Dell has done nothing but gone downhill in the last few years. Their hardware quality is terrible, warranty is worse, and tech support is rock bottom the worst I have ever had to deal with in 22 years of professional computing.

Essentially, the company buys pallets of the cheapest parts it can find, parts that will hopefuly survive their 90 day base warranty.

You bought a lemon system, and may be able to use your state's lemon laws to help you get a refund, and maybe go buy an Acer with less money. Then you get a 1 year parts and labor warranty standard, great quality, and terrific American tech support that you can understand. They actually treat you like a human being!

Best of luck and I hope this helped you out. As for things falling apart; that is what newer cheap Dells do; they fall apart. I can get an Acer identical to a new Dell for 30% less money and get better product support.
ok its the 6000...it could be the fact that it was poorly created or it also could be like some cars, fall apart because thay werent tested properly
one dell really aint that great
two just because its xp dont mean its fast
three try wiping it off and rebooting it
my question would be do you run a lap top cooler under it? as this is the only way to make laptops last heat is what shorten's the life of a laptop. And screen are the first thing that goes on any brand of laptop, just think how many times they are opened & closed, they can be repaired but sometimes its cheaper to replace than repair

One thing you can do if you haven't already is to change the start up order. this will speed up computer.
follow these steps:
1.start button
2. go to run click
3. when box comes up type msconfig, click ok
4. a box will open click on the tab that says startup
5. in this window you will see a long list of the items running at start up on your computer, in front of each is a box with check marks in them.
6. uncheck ever thing except your virus programs, such as avg, norton, spybot etc. you can leave internet running if you wish but not neccessary.
You only need your protection running at startup, ever thing else will kick in as needed.
7.click apply and ok
8.reboot and then a box will be on screen with a messege saying something like don't show this messege again, system configuration etc. just put a check in the box and click ok. your done
Have you done a registor repair?
