How do I connect to wireless internet on an HP Pavilion dv6449us?

I just bought an HP Pavilion dv6449us today. I have wireless internet at my house, but for some reason my new laptop doesn't want to connect. It says that there are no networks in range. I've tried a whole bunch of things to get it work. I can't figure out what the problem is. Any suggestions?

who set up the wireless at ur house ... is the ssid broadcasting ... maybe u need to turn on the wieless on the laptop also .. sometimes theres a switch or function key ..
Yo may need to reset your router. when i got my new computer, i had to reset my router. depending on the make of the router, the company's website is a good source. i no that linksys has a great webbased tutorial. if you cant find a way to restart your wireless router online, you can always uninstall the wirelesss router cd
Make sure the wifi is enabled and reset the router or modem/router. My HP had the same problem. Sometimes I have to restart the computer multiple times.
