Is 2GB of Ram adequate or would it be better to upgrade to 4GB?
Answers:
Not really. Programs like photoshop suggest a minimum of 1GB, so 2GB seems pretty okay.
extra memory wouldnt be bad but 2gb is more than ok
2 gig will get you by now, but 4 gigs will last you forever. It all depends on how much you want to spend.
2gb shud b fine
Working with graphics/animation/videos can get quite memory intensive. So upgrading to 4GB is not a bad decision.
1Gb is even enough but 2Gb is Good but 4Gb is more Faster.
The suggested minimum for Vista is 2 so... you'll need more eventually. Really depends on what your doing. I have only two but muh video cards have another ruffly 1.3 so... memory is always good.
That is more than enough...RAM is just temporary memory that the computer uses to run programs and most programs don't take much of it. I have 1 gb of ram and i am able to run solid works(graphic intensive 3d software) and play games at the same time while only using about half of the ram so you should be good. I would suggest you check what type of graphics card you are running because that is what will affect the performance of the graphic intensive programs. I have an ati radeon 200 and it runs good enough for me. If you got any more questions just e-mail me.
If its XP 2GB is fine. If it's Vista make it 4
If you can get the memory for a good price, as the cost of it fluctuates, then you can consider it as an investment in your computer. However, do you need 4 GB right now? Unlikely. Even with running that garbage Vista, 2 GB should still be enough to do what you want to do.
2GB of memory is way too much memory. 1GB is large enough, but 2GB can hold even more files. 2GB is plenty of space to store all of your files.
