What can i do to prevent my computer from becoming slow?

computer maintenance. oh the joy.
clear out any programs you dont want/use. Control Panel>Add/Remove programs.
Defrag the hard disk. Start>Accesories>System tools>Defrag
this will rearrange your hard drive for easier searching.
if you want to clear up all the loose ends and keep your registry tidy download: CCleaner. www.ccleaner.com (this has helped me loads).
The more you store on your hard drive the longer it'll take to process. you can keep lesser used files on a seperate hard disk, maybe get a removeable hard drive for you multimedia.
Alternatively, take it into PC world and give them £50 for turning your computer on and off ;)

yes .. download acronis true image and keep a backup of ur whole system while its in good shape ...
you may burn those files to dvd and flash drive is ok too. you can download winpatrol. it controls what the programs will be run during startup, thus less programs can be opened without your agreement. others like ccleaner can clean those unwanted files. you can also defragment your hard disk regularly to optimize its performance.
just dont start ur pc ever :D
Use CCleaner to delete all unnecessary, old, cashed and temporary files. You pc is full od data, make a backup (use smth like True Image) and store it on the external storage, it safe not only for data but for your pc.

Your laptop is new,and your hard drive is hard enough, so there are not questions in your laptop, do not worry about it. Do not make programmes tegother and take good care of it. And you may buy a replacement battery for your laptop, then you can take it everywhere. I know a good online shop of laptop batteries, http://www.batteries-store.ca . You can count on it.
