I am getting the unmountable boot volume error (bsod), i dont have a cd rom or floppy. (dell c400)?

i have a cd rom that hooks up via USB, however this is not working. If i purchase a dell media bay along with the dell cable, will this enable me to boot from my windows xp disc?

Answers:
Yes, Once you get the bay put the CD in the drive and when you see the Dell Screen start tapping on the F12 Key and select the USB CD Rom drive. if you want you might wat to run the diags. just to make sure you do not have a bad harddrive. you can do that when the system is off and holding the FN key and pressing the power button and once the system starts to boot you can let it go.
Right now your hard drive is in trouble; check your manual for running diagnostics/repairs on the HD. I believe that on a c400 you will not be able to boot to CD with the attached CD.
