I want a MacBook pro, what is the best setup for a college student that uses graphics programs?
(this is similar to my older question but I am new to the world of macs)
Answers:
I think the standard version of MacBook Pro 15" is enough for you. It is for me, :)
I use my MacBook Pro for Photoshop and 3D rendering on Maya.
If you have more money to spend, go with the upgraded version of MacBook Pro 15". It has faster GPU and more RAM.
But I think a standard version with additional RAM is sufficient.
Macs are the best, and a macbook i really dont think it will cut it, Since you like to watch online videos, or I suppose, look up how to do a computer, macs rock but they're just a little TOO expensive. Photoshop CS3 on a mac is about a gig, whn on a PC is half of that. Built your own PC if you can. If now then just, yeah, get a small iMac, for a better Photoshop resolution. Most graphics are for PC's as you might know, so try to get a PC better. I dont agree with MS owning the whole computer business but oh well.
well try to get a laste gen 15.4" 2.16 core 2 duo with ati x1600 128 mb there like $1500
People in the graphics business prefer Macs. I don't own a MacBook Pro (but I own a MacBook) but I think Photoshop can run relatively well there. Plus, it has Wi-Fi and Ethernet but not a dial-up modem.
If you want a laptop for simple, general everyday use, MacBook Pro's a good companion. Plus, if you have photo editing software that can't work on Macintosh, you can also install Windows via Boot Camp.
Hope this helps.
