How can you tell if a cd drive is compatible with your laptop?
Answers:
if its slimline they are usually pretty universal ..
All CD's are compatible - the problem is getting one that fits your machine - you will need one from the same brand and/or model
Internal CD-drives are laptop-specific... you need to buy it from your laptop's manufacturer.
If the CD drive is external, you shouldn't have a problem, as long as you have the right kind of connection, meaning USB or FireWire (IEEE 1394).
If the CD drive is internal, they are specific to the manufacturer. There is no standard slot-type for this kind of device, despite discussion to the contrary.
well first you should check if its a laptop drive. if it is it should have requirements on the back of the box. if those requirements meet your computers specifications it should be compatible...
Since different laptops are sculptured differently you need to find a drive specific to your laptop. Google your laptop model and find the companies that sell parts for it and find the best deal. Althou rare, sometime the laptop's manufacturer charges the less for it.
