Answers:
1. They use both. They come with bulit in speakers, or you can plug in external speakers or earbuds.
2. Yes. (most likely)
3. Wireless isnt dependant on your internet connection. You need a wirless router that would connect to your current service along side any hard connections. This is a one time cost of $50-75.
4. A printer connected via usb or attached to your wireless network
5. Depends on where you live. Most larger cities offer this service via cell phone companies. Ask your local cell phone company if they offer wireless broad band in your area. Then you will have to buy another wireless card (theirs) and sign monthly contract. If you go this route it wouldn't be worth keeping you other internet service, which completely voids my answer to number 3.
1) You can use speakers too. some laptops come with built-in speakers
2)Yes you can with ease. it same as desktop PC.
3)Wireless are different from ADSL or broadband. So you have to ask your INTERNET PROVIDER if it provides wireless too.
4)Same as on a desktop. You connect a printer on laptops usb port. Install the printer software and you ready to go.
5)Ask your ISP or visit their page. Every ISP has different price policy.
1) You can use either earbuds or speakers with a laptop. I currently have mine plugged into my PA system.
2) It depends on what you are currently using for internet - but most likely yes. If you are using a dial-up modem, most new laptops still have them built in, if you are using a cable connection, you can just plug the network cable into the back, and be connected - but your best bet is to throw a wireless router in with your order, and set it up so you can be connected anywhere in your house.
3) The wireless service doesn't cost extra - you just add the router, and voila. Now - if you want to be able to go anywhere (not just around your house) and be connected, then you need to talk to a cellphone provider like sprint, they will give you a card that acts like a cell phone (you will have a plan with minutes, just like a cell). The built in wireless card is only for wifi - which you can set up in your house like I described, plus there are a lot of restaraunts and coffee shops that have wifi so you can just sit at a table and be connected (generally for free).
4) You can also add a printer to your purchase (if it doesn't already come with one). Normally you will have to plug it into the USB port on the laptop - but if you set up a wireless network, you can send stuff to the printer over it.
5. See #3
You also have the option of getting a docking bay, that allows you to plug your laptop into it - and you can have a full size screen, keyboard, mouse, speakers, printer, etc. all plugged in without having to mess with plugging/unplugging them on the laptop.
Good luck!!
I've got a Dell 1501 that I've been very happy with, though I do keep a desktop machine set up too.
