What do I need to buy for a new laptop so I can get internet while traveling?
Answers:
Many new notebook/laptops come with a wireless modem already installed. Check see whether yours has one. An after-market modem can be installed if it does not and it shouldn't be expensive.
When you plan your journeys, stay at hotels/motels that offer Internet access. Quite a few now have wireless access - you'll need to check with the desk clerk when you check in on how to access the 'net while in your room - they'll have to give you an access code you have to program into your machine before you can log on.
In some of the less savvy hotels/motels you have to pay an extra charge for Internet access, but in others, it's free. But you gotta ask...
most new laptops come with a wireless internet card built in, so you just need to get a little modem thing.
Wifi. Most laptops these days come with this technology built in.
I have a wireless adapter, a car charger for my laptop and internet on my phone (which I can use as a wireless router for my computer). I travel a lot and hate not having internet.
A wireless network adapter. They come in USB, PCMCIA, and ExpressCard flavors, depending on what kind of ports you got on your laptop. They range from around 50 to 90 bucks.

Wireless card will be gud 4 u. i recommend u buying a USB port wireless card.. It's more handy during travelling rather than the PCI.. happy Travelling dude.. Ciao.. :)
Laptops generally come with built in wireless connections. Gotta find a hot spot or hook it up to your wireless modem.
Your computer should have built in wi-fi. Most hotels offer wireless internet or you can go just about anywhere to find a wi-fi hot spot. I have the same computer and it lets me know when it picks up a wireless signal and all I do is hit connect. It's almost too easy!
