iTunes will not work without Quicktime.
It depends if you want to use itunes or watch some video clips online that support quicktime only then yea ill get it.You have to have quicktime in order to use itunes
quicktime technically isn't needed. But it usually doesnt hurt anything so you might as well keep it installed.
I just stop mine from starting automatically. There are many videos and the like that need quicktime to play and certain apps and what not, so I jus tkeep it on to save myself trouble
Yes if you want to be able to play video or stream video which quicktime supports. There are movie trailers out there which you can only watch if quictime is installed. Quicktime is best for playing HD movie trailers which can be found on yahoo! movies, disney.com, sonypictures.com, etc.
If you use I-Tunes you have to have Quicktime installed. The two are married. However, if you don't use I-Tunes then you can install ffdshow which is an open source codec (coder/decoder) that can handle all Quicktime files. In fact, it can handle nearly every audio/video type out there.
