Does anyone know where I can get a decent laptop for $150 or under in the US?

My wife and I have just purchased two laptops for our 18 and 19 year old boys so they can use them in college.
We scoured the Internet for all kinds of deals and were surprised at how many we actually found.
The first one we found was $175.00. It worked fine when we picked it up. After my son started using it to learn about it, it went belly up. We spent $181.00 to have it fixed and had XP Pro reinstalled. Our computer guy found out that the 20gig hard drive was fried, so he put a new 40gig hard drive in and now it runs better than out home computer.
We just bought another laptop off of eBay for $275.00. Hopefully this one won’t have any serious problems.
Bottom line, you can find laptops for a pretty reasonable price, but you may have to do some upgrading.
Look on all of the auction sites starting with eBay. We also looked in the online classifieds as well which is where we found the first one. If you are diligent, you will find one.
I on the other hand am planning on buying a laptop for myself, but I think it will be a new one. I looked at a lot of the new laptops and found you can actually get some pretty decent computers for under $400.00. Of course they won’t be a super power house, but they will usually get the job done.

Sorry, but honestly, anything you get for that price won't be "decent". It'll either be WAY old or broken.
