How can i command vista to automatically turn on Fan in my laptop?

My laptop's fan fail to start...it seems that it will only turn on when a certain temperature is reached, but that checking of temperature occurs only when the laptop is freshly turned on or woke from sleep.so i usually, on my laptop or resume it from hibernating/sleep, then wait fro 1 minute for it to heat for sometime and make it sleep again then wake so for it to recheck the temp and eventually turning on the fan...and i can confirm that it works...i'm using asus laptop a8f, windows vista ultimate, and core2 duo...thanks
