Laptop battery?
Answers:
You can either have CHEAP or you can have VERY GOOD condition, but not both. CHEAP is going to be a used one, which means it won't last as long. (any rechargeable battery wears out after you recharge it enough times)
Looks like the new batteries for that model are going for somewhere in the vicinity of a hundred bucks. Cheapest new one I saw was $76 - they went up to $140 or so.
Go to Google and search for "Presario v5000 battery" and you'll find all kinds of options.

Let's put it this way, if a laptop battery lasts just TWO years, you wouldn't get one USED. So look for BARGAINS. Check http://www.laptopsforless.com
Good luck and Happy Computing!

Don't buy a used laptop battery - more than likely it is on its way to dying.

I don't know where you'd find a stockist if you're in the USA, but in the UK there is a web site called Re-Cell which supplies the cells that go inside the laptop battery casing. You've got to make sure that you are buying the correct ones, but buying the cells on their own is about half the price of buying a complete unit from the laptop manufacturer.
Simple fact of life:
CHEAP and GOOD are STANDALONE TERMS.
Used things are cheap... but not very good condition.
New things are more expensive... but brand-new.
Simple choice: do you want to pay for something you'll end up replacing in a few weeks... or spend a little more and buy something that lasts the next two years?
