Answers:
Ensure the Windows Audio service is started.

Reinstall sound driver.

Repair SNDVOL32.EXE
1.Click the Start button, then click Run.
2.In the Run window, next to Open, type MSCONFIG.
3.Click the OK button.
4.In the System Configuration Utility window, on the General tab, click the Expand File button.
5.In the Expand One File from Installation Source window, in the File to restore box, type SNDVOL32.EX_.
6.In the Restore from box, type C:\Windows\I386.
7.In the Save file in box, type C:\Windows\System32.
8.Click the Expand button.
9.In the System Configuration Utility window, click the OK button.
In the System Configuration window, click the Restart button

Perform a system restore to when the device was working properly
Install sound driver.
