Lol leave it to Dell.. All they do for Home users is to transfer them to some country like India.
You can use your re installation CD and reinstall your operating system. Don't bother install the other junk they put on your computer except for the things you need. (MS Works, Photoshop etc)
Normally I would insert the ReIN CD (Windows Vista/XP) then restart, press F8 or what ever it says on the top right hand corner when it first boots up. Select boot menu, then go down and boot into CD. It sounds much harder then it really is...
For Mac (lol, sorry) you just insert the CD, and follow the setup lol. Or just go into the hard drive (folder) and delete all the preference file and it's just like when you first opened your computer.
It would help if you could re-word your question. "Restart to factory condition" does not make sense. Does it give you a screen that asks what you want to do ? Or is it frozen up, or what ?
