Get an acer - theyre really the top spec u can get on a low budget and i know LOADS of people with them and never heard any complaints. i've got one myself and its a good little runner, even survived a hotchocolate related disaster!!

I think maybe circuit city or fries.
they do have some at i think...um...unlimited electronics, and other electronic stores. or you could get a laptop at a mister money or something. they aren't actually that bad.
i really don't think that you could find one for quite as cheap as 200 or 300 but maybe 400

a pretty quick one they have come down in price anything over 2.0GHz would be good do research and you will be able to make your mind up better, dell are pretty good ,if you for get about the batteries burning in a few of their lap tops
You really can't get a durable laptop at that price. The cheapest, durable laptop you can get would probobally be $450, so if you want a durable laptop, start saving buddy.

Don't be tempted to buy a Toshiba.. I got one ten months ago.. the tops crack at the hinges and toshiba dont repair under warranty they say it may be incorrect handling... so if you want a laptop you don't need to open a toshiba might be good !
It turns out that a search on the web turns up loads of them with the same fault.
Comet do a Toshiba for 379 quid, a Fujitsu for 349..Tesco do a Gateway one for 299...or check your local cash converters.
You want get anything amazing for this price, but Comet is an excellent place to get cheap laptops. Don't know if it sells outside of UK, but I should think it might.

I wouldnt recommend it though- those cheap laptops are really cheap- crap parts, and no real good performance.
It's a good idea to save up, and buy a good, well known, top class brand.
hi! well for £279.99 I got a Hewlett Packard Pavilion Entertainment PC, from PC World, it's got a great looking 'fingerprints' design, it came with Windows Vista, I just find it totally brill (and thats something!) well worth buying in my opinion, -though if u wanted 2play computer games on it the shop assistnt sed this mite not be the best buy -sumfin about needin loads of MB/GB or woteva it is u need 2play games (-cnt remember as i didnt care bout this) Ne-way im a media student n i find it brill 4my work n for 'normal' everyday use! hope this helps :)
