Laptop overheats.?

I've been resorting to the use of an ice pack underneath my laptop to keep it from overheating. Is the fan's battery dead? Is the fan bad? Is it clogged with dust? Do the gods take pleasure in seeing me switch ice packs every thirty minutes?

Answers:
its not good to put ice pack underneath your laptop it might jsut worsen your laptop..

if it overheats theres really a prob with the fan.. try to check underneath if the ventilation has enough space or if there's something blocking the fan to get enough air...

also, it might be the fan not working anymore.. do hear it working? if not, you may ask someone near your place to check it for you.. or if its under warranty call tech support.. usually the solution is replace fan..

if your using battery, it might be the prob also.. try plugging it to your power adapter.. it overheats then prob is fan...

hope this helps.. :)
