Enlighten me. AMD or INTEL?
specifically:
ACER aspire 4520(AMD)
or
ACER aspire 4710 (intel).
They have the same price and comes with the same package.
I'll be using programs that will deal with lots of editing like photoshop CS2,animation,movie maker, etc. also i'll play some games once in a while. :)
SO HELP? which is better?
Answers:
What graphic cards do they come with?
If the 4520 comes with a nvidia 8400M, then get that one.
I think the 4710 doesn't offer a good graphics card, and since you will be playing some games, the 4520(as long as it comes with the 8400M) will be better.
If your 4520 comes with a NVIDIA nForce® 610M, then get the 4710.
Video card is an extremely important component when it comes to laptops. So if nothing of what I said makes sense to you, then just post what each system displays under 'Graphics' on their description, and I will tell you which is better.
the thing with laptops is here's the break down with Intel vs AMD
Intel: Better performance now that their Core 2 Duo (Santa Rosa Rosa) is out, and that Core 2 Duo beats the AMD Turion™ 64 X2 any day in speed
AMD: They are okay for laptops but I wouldn't recommend them over Intel simply because AMD processors tend to use more battery and power thus create more heat. Thus creating overheating and low battery.
Go with the ACER Aspire 4710 (Intel® Core™2 Duo) because it's a better processor and you get a better a deal. Plus your battery life will be longer and you'll feel less heat on the laptop.
Forget the graphics card, both is good enough to handle most games.
i would have said amd a couple years ago, but ever since core 2 duo's intel is killing amd and amd cant catch up.
odds are id say 4710 but you didnt give many details about the computer like what they come with(how much ram, screen size, etc.) and how much they are. also which processor is each running? depending on price there may be better options for you. send me an email and i can help you more.
Neither. If you are getting the Vista Premium OS, there is barely enough RAM to support this OS (operating system) not to mention the graphins you are wanting to use it for. I would boost the RAM to 2GB minimum. If you cant boost the RAM, I would search for a better notebook. Dont let anyone tell you different. Go to www.microsoft.com and look at the requirements for Vista. It is a RAM hog! This machine will run really slow and you wont be happy. Good luck
