How come the higher I set my refresh rate for my monitor, the more blurry my screen is?

I found these instructions:

1) Right click on your desktop and click properties
2) Click settings and then click on the "Advanced" button
3) Now click on monitor and under screen refresh rate, choose a higher refresh rate.

It was supposed to help your eyes from hurting but my screen became blurry. So I set it back to the lower refresh rate.

Answers:
your refresh rate is messed up. I only use the same rate . what is already set on my computer. I never change it. I have never had any problems. go to the help section.
You lost me there
