Can I set monitor to prevent sore eyes?

my eyes hurt after a bit when I am on the internet

Answers:
It's not the monitor that causes sore eyes, it's the contrast between the screen and the surrounding environment. Try turning on other lights in the room, so so the area surrounding the screen is just as bright as the screen itself. You'll get sore eyes very quickly if you use your computer with the lights off, especially at night.

Alternatively, you can turn the brightness on the screen down. Usually the controls are on the screen itself.
you can get a anti glare screen for your monitor have you had a eye test??
Set it to 'do not stab the user in the eye with a needle' mode in 'preferences'
put a large powerfull magnet on top of your monitor, facing down. that should keep the light down enough to help your eyes
