After turning it off for at least 10-20 mins, monitor won't turn back on - I use windows vista?

If i turn my monitor off (or leave it on as well maybe, i'm not sure) and i leave my computer for 10-20 minutes, it stays off. When i come back to turn it on, nothing shows even though the computer is still on. I have vista and have set it so that the computer never goes to sleep mode and never will turn off the display, but this seems to be what it's doing. tapping keys and clicking/moving the mouse doesn't work.

PLEASE HELP! I have to press the re-start button to get my computer working again.

Answers:
YOu may have a screen saver that's crashing. EIther way the problem is at the PC not the screen, otherwise a reboot would not cure it.
in vista you will have to check if while turning the computer off whether u hibernate the computer...so when u click on start ull see a small side arrow click on it and then click turn off computer.
Go to the Power Settings and select 'Never' for the setting of 'Turn off the montitor". Since the monitor will not get switched off, you will not face this problem again.
Check your power saver function. This sounds like you are still set for this function.
