What is the purple line running diagonally through my laptop screen?
When I change the angle of the screen, it looks like there is something touching it, it turns white around the edges of the line. What could cause this? Is it easily repaired? If not, can I continue to use the computer without causing futher damage? What causes this? As you can probably tell, I don't know much when it comes to computers.
Answers:
sorry hun your screen is dying
bn
it looks like that your LCD screen is busted. but if you still see some text when you boot it up it should be fine and its your OS is corrupted.
LCD screen are not that cheap so most likely i would recommend you to just buy a new laptop instead of having it fix and ask someone to transfer your file for you.
WORK AROUND:
try plugging your laptop to a regular monitor with its VGA connector. If this works then you should be fine.
a laptop screen is made of a bunch of balloon like liquid crystals
hence (lcd-liquid crystal display) they can burst, and possibly burn out, but i think yours bursted, it happend to my sisters laptop too, this could have happened from something being set on it, it being hit, or anyother contact, but when they burst its a different color depending on the lighting and angle
if its 2 years old it could never hurt to upgrade, but if you are attached to this one sometimes you can get a new screen, but they run about 100-200$
