Could someone help me when i watch dvds on my pc the sound is distorted,i can hear speaking but their is a?

update your sound driver :)
Check your speaker connection if all sound is crackling, it shouldnt do it only when playing movies.
check to see if the speaker jacks are plugged in all the way.
check for loose connections.
Is it only when you listen to dvd's?
If your sound is fine but only crackels when you listen to dvds, you have to determine what your doing differently. a good example is you listen to dvd using head phones. The id look for a loose connection within the head phones. Could be they have a loose connection inside.

shake around the volume bars and see if it hellps.
Start>all programs>accesories>volume control.

I had the same problem on my computer after much head scratching and trial and error I right clicked the sound icon on the task bar and opened up the volume control dialogue box ,under volume control move the balance control slider from the centre position to the left or right position and this cleared up the problem the sound was back to normal.
I don't know if you may have a bigger problem but the above worked for me perhaps it will work for you, good luck
